Haryana earmarks Rs 632 cr for public health amenities

Chandigarh, June 15 (UNI) The Haryana government has made a provision of Rs 632 crore for providing improved public health amenities to the people of the state during the current financial year.

This was informed in the Haryana State Sanitary Board meeting chaired by Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda here today, an official spokesman said.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister directed the officers of the Water Supply and Sanitation Department that priority should be given to the early completion of the ongoing schemes.

He also advised the officers that the new schemes should be appropriately financed so as to complete these works in a span of two years.

The Chief Minister directed the Water Supply and Sanitation Department that the ongoing works falling in the National Capital Region (NCR) should be completed in the next year.

He also stressed the need for preparing an integrated detailed project falling in the NCR area.

Public Health Minister Randeep Singh Surjewala, who was also present in the meeting, said works amounting to Rs 117 crore were going on in the rural areas while works costing Rs 340 crore were being executed in the urban areas.
