Farm commodities prices show mixed trend

New Delhi, June 15 (UNI) Farm commodity prices have shown mixed trend in different centres across the country for the week ending June 11.

Wheat prices remained steady at majority of reporting centres but declined at Ahmedabad, according to figures issued today by the Department of Consumer Affairs under the Ministry of Agriculture.

Sugar prices remained steady across majority of the centres but slid at Ahmedabad.

Gram prices remained steady over the week across most of the centres, declinng at Agartala and Bangalore the prices increased at Delhi, Ahmedabad, Mumbai and Kolkata, the data showed.

Tur dal prices were also steady across most of the centres.

However, their prices declined at Lucknow, Ahmedabad and Bhubaneswar and increased at Jaipur.

At Delhi, prices of wheat, atta, tur dal, sugar and groundnut oil remained steady over one week, those of rice, milk and potato remained steady over one month, and prices of vanspati remained steady for six months.

Prices of tea (loose), mustard oil, gram, onion and packaged salt increased at Delhi in the week ending June 11.

As on June 11, public sector agencies have contracted import of 6.395 lakh tonne pulses of which 1.766 lakh tonnes has already reached Indian ports.

The imported pulses include urad, moong, dunpeas, masoor, chana, yellow peas and tur.
