Thiruvananthapuram, June 15 (UNI) Asserting that the government will go ahead with its ongoing anti-encroachment drive in Munnar and other parts of the state, Kerala Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan today said no favours would be shown to anybody, including political parties, in this regard.

The government would go ahead with its drive in evicting encroachers from the government land legally, he said in a release here.

Stating that the government would never give any illegal benefits to anybody, including political parties, he clarified that it would go ahead with the demolition drive as per its decision and also on the basis of court orders.

Stressing that there was no need for any apprehension about the eviction process, Mr Achuthanandan said the government's objective was to complete the drive with the cooperation of the public and the law abiding citizens.

As the government had received complaints from certain quarters that the officials engaged in the drive had taken hasty steps without verifying the documents and issuing notices to the parties concerned, the government asked them not to take any provocative steps as it would affect the governent's intention, he added.
