ETAS forays into Indian market, opens subsidiary in Bangalore
Bangalore, June 15 (UNI) The ETAS group, a leading global provider of end-to-end solutions in electronic control units to the automotive industry, today forayed into the Indian market by opening its subsidiary ETAS Automotive India Pvt Ltd in the city.
Announcing the entry of 131 Million Euro Stuttgart-based company, ETAS Chief Executive Officer M Klauda said the company had presence in Asia pacific countries and the Indian office would offer sales, marketing and technical support activities to both Indian and multinational component and auto manufacturers in India.
He said globally over 50 million vehicles were running with ETAS products and 20 companies were adopting the ETAS products.
ETAS Automotive India Private Limited Managing Director Sienel said according to a survey, growth of automotive electronics market in India, was projected to grow at 22 per cent to reach a volume of 4.49 billion US Dollars by 2010.
The market was expected to grow at 20 per cent to touch 51.9 million Euro by 2011.
Replying to a question, he said in the first year ETAS was expecting a turnover of two million Euro and targetting to achieve 10 million Euro by 2011.
Dr Sienel said the impending introduction of Euro IV norms puts additional pressure on Indian automotive manufacturers to strictly adhere to environment friendly machineries.
Initially, the ETAS's main growth drivers would be the Test and Validation Division and the Measurement and Calibration Division.
The company also forsees opportunities in software engineering and diagnostic services in the next couple of years.
Dr Klauda said Electronic control units in vehicles were becoming more sophisticated and ubiquitous as a result of increasingly stringent norms for the automotive industry and required regulatory compliance.
He said more than 65 million Euros had been spent on Research and Development wing of the company so far since inception in 1994.
