Mumbai, June 15 (UNI) The BMC has decided to relocate stray dogs to Palghar and Vasai from the city.

The increasing incidents of dog bites and dog nuisance has forced the BMC authorities to take the decision and shift the dogs that are in lakhs, to far away places like Palghar and Vasai.

Additional municipal commissioner K Gajbeye today said, ''Due to increasing dog menace, the BMC administration has decided to shift the dogs outside the city, as relocating them in the city would be a very costly affair.'' The number of dogs in the city has increased and the BMC's efforts to check the population through sterilisation and other methods, has not yeilded results.
