Bid to loot Rs 26 lakh; one injured in firing

Amritsar, Jun 15 (UNI) One person was injured in firing by motorcycle-borne robbers when they attempted to loot Rs 26 lakh from the occupants of car in Raja Sansi police station area today.

The robbers tried to snatch the bag containing the money from one of the car occupants and opened fire injuring him. The injured was later admitted to a hospital.

The robbers, however, escaped on seeing the people assembling there.

The occupants of the car were going towards Ajnala to make payment in connection with land deal. Police registered a case.
