Arunachalee student wins Amul Shakti Vidyashree Award

Itanagar, June 15 (UNI) Ms Nyabi Kamdak, a class-XII student of Itanagar Kendriya Vidyalaya received the Amul Shakti Vidyashree national award for academic excellence in the Central Board of Secondary Examination (CBSE) 2006, at the Vivekanda Kendriya Vidyalaya (VKV) campus here yesterday.

''My determination, hard work and perseverance strengthened by the teachers in the best possible academic atmosphere here helped me to achieve this success,'' said Ms Nyabi.

Ms Nyabi securing 93% marks at the class-X CBSE examination was the highest Arunachalee scorer followed by her classmate Masanda Pertin(92.3%), who qualified in the 2006 NTSE examination to receive annual scholarship till Ph D level.

''Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalayas (VKVs) offer all-round personality development with good education in an excellent academic atmosphere,'' Nyabi told UNI.

Of the 48 students appeared this year, 47 had scored 1st division while the lone 2nd division holder missed the coveted slot by less than 0.1 per cent.
