Bangalore, June 15 (UNI) Maintaining his tempo right to the end India's top amateur Anirban Lahiri shot a two under 70 to clinch the LG Eagleton Amateur Golf Championship title here today.

Lahiri finished with a tournament tally of 15-under 273, 13 strokes clear of his nearest rival Raj Randhawa who shot a pathetic six over 78 to finish second at 286.

Local lad Chikkarangappa fired a final round of level par 72 to finish third at 288, while Abhishek Jha finished tied fourth with Simarjeet Singh at 289, after shooting a final round of two under 70. Simarjeet shot a one over 73 today.

Lahiri's round was surprisingly a tale of misses. He started with a birdie on the first but dropped shots on the fifth and seventh.

"It was surprisingly windy today and it affected my driving," said Lahiri who won his home tournament for the first time in three attempts.
