AIIMS Governing Body Meet postponed due to cabinet meeting

New Delhi, Jun 15 (UNI) The AIIMS Governing Body Meeting, scheduled for today, has been postponed as Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss had to attend the cabinet meeting.

''The Governing Body meeting was scheduled at 1130 hrs while the Cabinet meeting was at 1115 hrs, so how could the minister attend the meeting,'' health ministry sources told UNI.

Though no fresh date for the meeting of the eleven-member Governing Body has been fixed yet, it would be announced in a week's time, they said.

The Governing Body meeting was expected to be stormy as it was expected to seek a compliance report from AIIMS Director P Venugopal on its earlier decisions. It was also to deliberate on the Thorat Committee report on alleged discrimination being faced by students on the basis of caste.
