AIFB to seek scientists' opinion about chemical hub
Kolkata, Jun 15 (UNI) The Forward Bloc today said it would discuss with the state government about setting up of chemical hub after seeking the opinion of the scientists and environmentalists.
AIFB general secretary Debabrata Biswas said it was decided in the state secretariat meeting that the party will take up with the state government setting up of chemical hub after taking the opinions of scientists and environmentalists.
" We are expecting that a bipartite meeting between Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee and the Forward Bloc would be held soon in this regard, " he said.
Mr Biswas said the Left parties were discussing with the Centre about the SEZ and called for reviewing the 2005 and 2006 Act.
Referring to the retail sector, he said the state government had sent notes to several political parties, and " We have so many comments on this notes. We will sit soon across the table with the Chief Minister after doing survey about the retail sector. " He said it was high time to implement several infrastructure laws and change the old marketing act in West Bengal.
The Left parties were successful about the implementation of land reforms and land distribution to the poor farmers, he said called for a concerted coordination among the government, farmers and the private sectors.
He also underscored the need for a comprehensive plan in the retail sector.
He also said the UPA government at the Centre had decided that the commemoration of the 150th year of Plassey war would be held on January 23, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose's birthday, and Rs eight crore had been granted in this regard.
