42 students fell ill due to suspected food poisoning

Belgaum, June 15 (UNI) About fortytwo students fell ill after taking mid-day meal at a school in Nesargi in Baihongal taluk in Belgaum District of Karnataka today.

Police said that it was suspected that part of the food supplied by an agency was old since of the total 208 students only 42 fell ill.

District Health Officer Dhanawadkar told UNI that said that all those admitted were out of danger. "It was a clear case of food poisoning and the food samples were sent to Bangalore for chemical analysis.

Bailahongal Tahashildar has ordered Block Education Officer (BEO) to investigate.
