Two killed, 9 injured in SSB firing in Bihar
Motihari, June 14(UNI) Two people were killed and nine injured when Seema Shashastra Bal(SSB)jawans opened fire on a violent mob at Agarwa village in East Champaran district today.
Official sources said the villagers were furious over the alleged sodomy on a minor son of a local farmer by a SSB jawan in a local field .
When enraged villagers started demonstrating near the camp protesting against the incident and demanded stern action against the guilty jawan,members of the nearby SSB camp first tried to persuade the villagers.
But when the villagers refused to budge,they opend fire to disperse the mob killing one villager on the spot and injuring ten others.Later one of the injured succumbed on way to hospital taking the death toll to two.
All the injured were admitted to hospitals in Ghorasahan and Motihari where the condition of the five was stated to be critical, sources added.
Meanwhile,the situation in village was described as 'tense but under control'.The District magistrate and police superintendent were camping at the site.
