Tata Indicom to invest Rs 100 cr in Punjab

Chandigarh, June 14 (UNI) Telecom service provider Tata Indicom today announced an additional investment of Rs 100 crore for expanding its network in Punjab and setting up exclusive stores in the state.

The company targets to double its subscriber base in Punjab from the current 7.5 lakh subscribers in current fiscal year, Tata Teleservices Circle Operating Officer (Punjab) Subhash Arya said.

Tata Teleservices (Indicom) also launched a 'Freedom Call Voucher', which offers free and unlimited outgoing calls to any local Tata phone.

Mr Arya claimed that the company at present covers around 270 towns and 3,000 villages in the state, with the highest teledensity in the country.
