Tata Indicom plans to roll out services in J

New Delhi, June 14 (UNI) CDMA player Tata Teleservices, presently operating in 20 circles, plans to roll out its services in the North-East region and Jammu and Kashmir, once it gets the Government's nod.

''We are waiting for the license from the Government to provide services in the North-Eastern part of the country and Jammu and Kashmir,'' Tata Teleservices Ltd President Naresh Malhan told reporters on the sidelines of a conference here.

At present, the company which owns the Tata Indicom brand does not operate in the North East and Jammu and Kashmir. ''Once we get the license, we will start our services there within the next 45 to 60 days,'' Dr Malhan said.

Tata Teleservices has a pan-India presence across 20 circles -- Andhra Pradesh, Chennai, Gujarat, Karnataka, Delhi, Maharashtra, Mumbai, Tamil Nadu, Orissa, Bihar, Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh (E), Uttar Pradesh (W), Kerala, Kolkata, Madhya Pradesh and West Bengal.

Incorporated in 1995, Tata Teleservices was the first to launch CDMA mobile services in India with the Andhra Pradesh circle.

Tata Teleservices, part of the 22-billion-dollar Tata Group, has 17.1 million subscribers.
