Tata AIG Life unveils expansion plans in Gujarat
Ahmedabad, June 14 (UNI) Tata AIG Life Insurance Company (Tata AIG Life) today announced major expansion plans in Gujarat.
''The Company plans to invest significantly in infrastructure and capitalise on the insurance potential that Gujarat and the rest of the western region offers,'' Company chief distribution officer Joydeep Roy here today.
Addressing mediapersons, he said by strengthening the distribution network in Gujarat, it would allow ''us to push forth our brand equity to a wider audience, build greater scale and bring to customers a wider choice of our products closer to their homes''.
Tata AIG, which has six offices in Gujarat, will open eleven more, Mr Roy said.
''The western region, and Gujarat in particular, has been a dominant region in the Company's all-India plans and currently contributes nearly one-third of the Company's total business,'' senior vice president and zonal business head (western region) M Anand informed.
The thrust is on expansion and the western zone, by August, will have 30 more offices taking the total to 49, Mr Anand said.
Tata AIG has embarked on a national accelerated growth stategy with a vision to open 120 new offices across the country by August 2007, Mr Anand said.
''We have sold close to one lakh policies in Gujarat so far. We also would be doubling our staff strength by this June end,'' Mr Anand said.
