Police seizes 37 gelatine sticks, 100 detonators

Coimbatore, June 14 (UNI) Police seized 37 gelatine sticks and about 100 electronic detonators from Kullipalayam near Karamadai in this district today.

Police said, Rangarajan (31) was arrested for possessing and transporting the explosive materials in a two wheeler without having valid documents.

On interrogation he told police that he had purchased the explosives from a stockist in Annur district. Police also filed a case aganist the latter for selling explosives to the person without licence.

Rangarajan purchased bombs to lay BSNL cables in rockfilled areas at the Annaikkatty in the district, police said.
