Nikkei up 0.6pc as Sony, exporters rise on US, yen

Tokyo, June 14: The Nikkei average rose 0.58 percent on Thursday with high-tech exporters such as Sony Corp.

up following a rise in stocks in the United States, one of the biggest markets for Japanese goods, and a weaker yen.

The Nikkei share average was up 102.01 points at 17,834.78 as of 0001 GMT, and the broader TOPIX index added 0.66 percent to 1,757.36.
