Metal prices recover on good industrial demand
Mumbai, June 14 (UNI) Metal prices recovered on good industrial demand, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange said today.
In the ferrous section, copper heavy and copper utensils rose by Rs 300 per quintal each due to higher advices. Brass utensils and brass cuttings also shot up by Rs 100 per quintal each on lesser stock supply.
In non-ferrous section, Alunimium ingot and copper wire bars edged up by Rs 500 and Rs 300 per quintal respectively owing to fresh buying support. Lead ingot came down by Rs 100 per quintal on sustained heavy selling pressure.
Nickel cathode also moved upward by Rs 35 per kg on better buying support.
Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 34,500, Copper utensils - Rs 31,000, Brass utensils - Rs 25,300, Brass cuttings - Rs 26,800 and Aluminium utensils - Rs 11,700.
Non-ferrous metals: Copper wire bars - Rs 38,100, Aluminium ingots - Rs 14,000, Zinc slabs - Rs 19,100, Lead ingots - Rs 10,100, Tin slab - Rs 700 (per kg) and Nickel cathode - Rs 1,925 (per kg).
