Indian to fly 9 more flights from Mumbai to clear rush
Mumbai, June 14 (UNI) Nine additional 'Indian'flights are being operated from Chhatrapati Shivaji domestic terminal here today to clear the choked air-traffic, caused due to the cancellation of 25 flights earlier in the day.
The flights were cancelled owing to the strike by the 12,000 ground handling staff of the State-owned Indian, which was called off this afternoon, after an agreement with the airlines management.
''Twenty flights have already been operated from Mumbai, and we are operating some more to clear the rush,'' Indian spokesperson told UNI this evening.
When asked whether normalcy had returned at the airport, which saw a chaos during the strike period, the spokesperson said the air services were being run smoothly, and situation had returned to near normal.
However, earlier in the day, the passengers had a tough time at the airport, following the cancellations of 25 flights, which included flights for Ahmedabad, Nagpur, Goa and Delhi.
