Indian strike: Little impact at Patna airport

Patna, Jun 14 (UNI) Barring the cancellation of one Delhi-bound flight in the afternoon, the two-day strike by the ground handling staff of 'Indian', the National domestic carrier, had no impact in the Jaiprakash Narayan International Airport here today.

Speaking to UNI, Patna Airport Station Manager P.Sen said, ''We had to cancel the flight following the failure in arrival of afternoon Indian flight from Mumbai causing inconvenience to the passengers. However, there was impact of the strike by the Air Corporation Employees Union''.

Welcoming the union's decision to call off the strike, he said, however, the morning Delhi flight was operated as per schedule.

Incidentally,'Indian' operates only two daily flights to Delhi from Patna. While one comes from Mumbai, the other flight goes to Delhi via Ranchi.
