'Govt. hospitals not paying attention to poor patients'
Patna, Jun 14 (UNI) Two women from Bihar--Rekha Modi and Parveen Amanullah--are putting their best effort to ensure better medical amenities in the state.
In yet another bid to redefine social activism Rekha Modi, cousin of deputy CM Sushil Kumar Modi,and Parveen Amanullah wife of Home secretary Afzal Amanullah, showed their resilience in fighting for poverty-stricken people of Bihar.They are working in the slums of Patna,sensitising the poor on family planning and other health related issues.
Speaking to UNI here today the ladies highlighted their mission for the uplift of the oppressed-ignorant class. ''We want hospitals to work honestly so that due attention is given to the patients,'' they opined.
Ms Modi said she had heard stories about PMCH staffs negligence and callousness. In fact the duo had to face a lot of obstacles by none other than the doctors of the PMCH when they tried to know the the expenditure of various medical amenities of the hospital for the last financial year under the Right to Information(RTI) Act.
After going through the replies of the hospital authorities, Ms Modi alleged that funds were being mismanaged by the medical superintendent.
When approached, hospital medical superintendent Dr O P Chaudhry refused to make any comment on the issue before media persons.

about
her
fight
against
corruption
she
said,

working
with
Rekha
since
I
want
to
contribute
something
to
the
society.''
