Father-son duo arrested in fake stamp papers business

Barrackpore, Jun 14 (UNI) A local court here today remanded a father, his son along with an accomplice, arrested in fake stamp papers business, to police custody.

The Criminal investigation Department detectives had arrested 72-year-old Ajit Maity and his son Robin Maity (47) from their Sibtala residence at Dum Dum. Their accomplice Kamal Dhar (48) was apprehended from Nimta area in 24-Parganas district last night.

The accused were produced before Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Gopal Karmakar, who remanded them to police custody till June 19.

The CID officials seized fake non-judicial stamp papers worth about Rs.2.5 lakh along with fake rubber stamps, seals and many incriminating documents during raids at Dum Dum and Nimta.

UNI
