CBI raids Income Tax official's premises, seizes assets worth lakhs
New Delhi, June 14 (UNI) The CBI today conducted raids at three premises belonging to an Income Tax Inspector and seized assets worth lakhs of rupees.
The raids made at Shyam Enclave, Laxmi Nagar in Delhi and at Radhey Shyam Park in Sahibabad in National Capital Region premises, owned by the accused, led to the recovery of a Santro car, jewellery, cash and fixed deposit receipts worth Rs 16.5 lakh, said the CBI.
''Besides this, 12 bank accounts in the name of the accused and his family members have also been sealed,'' they added.
The FIR registered against the accused, who joined the Income Tax department in 1975 as a Lower Division Clerk, accounts for possession of assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
