Woman throws acid on her husband in Vadodara

Vadodara, June 13 (UNI) A woman burnt her husband by allegedly throwing acid on him at Mahabalipuram society at the Tandalja area of the city today.

Riaz Ibrahim Sheikh had asked his wife Parveenbanu for a glass of water to drink. However, Parveenbanu brought a glass containing strong acid. Suspecting foul play, Riaz refused to accept the glass.

She then threw the acid on him, in which he sustained severe burn injuries to his stomach, hands and thigh, police said.

He was rushed to a local hospital, where his condition is stated to be stable.

Meanwhile, Parveenbanu is at large, police added.

The police are yet to ascertain the motive behind the crime.
