UP to set up SIT to deal with financial crimed
Lucknow, June 13 (UNI) The Uttar Pradesh government today announced formation of a high powered 'Special Investigation Team' (SIT) to deal with financial offences and to probe the irregularities committed by the government officials.
Chief Minister Mayawati today approved the setting up of SIT in a cabinet meeting here.
The new investigating team it will cover all the officials and employees of government departments, institutons, corporations and authorities. The agency will also take up the matters recommended by the state Home department.
A police officer of Additional Director General(ADG) rank will head the SIT while it will also have one IG/DIG 2 SPs and a expert panel of 5 officers to deal with offences.
The government has also decided to notify SIT as a police station with an effort to set up SIT special courts to deal with various cases.
