Uma Bharti dubs Mayawati as 'opportunist'

Lucknow, June 13: Dubbing Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati as an 'opportunist', the Bharatiya Jan Shakti (BJSP) leader Uma Bharti flayed the former for inducting assassin of senior BJP leader Braham Dutt Dwivedi into her party fold.

Vijay Singh, the Samajwadi Party legislator from Farrukhabad who had been convicted in the sensational murder of senior BJP leader, has recently joined the Mayawati-led BSP.

''It is for everyone to see the opportunist face of Mayawati as Braham Dutt Dwivedi was the person who had saved her life in infamous guest house incident on June 2, 1995,'' Ms Bharti said at a press conference here. The joining of Vijay Singh was a blatant example of how Mayawati used her political cards to her advantage, she said.

The former BJP leader announced to embark upon her ''Ram-Roti'' yatra yet again this time starting from Ayodhya tomorrow to reach Bhopal enroute all the states going to assembly polls.

She said Ram temple at Ayodhya would always remain on her agenda while the focus of her yatra would be the plight of farmers in the state.

The last time, the BJS leader had taken out her 'Ram Roti' yatra from Bhopal to Ayodhya.
