Tantia Construction bags rd projects of 178.29 cr
Patna, Jun 13: Tantia Constructions Limited(TCL), a leading infrastructure development company, has bagged one of the largest single orders for construction of new roads in Bihar at a cost of Rs 178.29 crores.
Being awarded by the Central Public Works Department(CPWD)here,the order is for constructing new roads in three new districts of the state including Rohtas,Lakhisarai and Jamui,company sources informed here today.
They said the project value for construction and development of highways in Rohtas was pegged at Rs 113.45 crore,while the order for similar work in Jamui and Lakshisarai districts was to the tune of Rs 64.84 crore.
The scope of work also included construction and up-gradation of state highways which would eventually link them to the National Highway,the sources added.
Incidentally,TCL currently had orders worth about Rs 1200 crores in hand of which the total cost of projects in Bihar was to the tune of Rs 400 crores, the sources informed.
Referring to some of the recently completed high-value projects by TCL,the sources said they included laying of transmission lines in Assam,construction of a sugar mill for Balrampur Chini and National Highways in Mizoram.
Claiming that the bagging of new orders by TCL for construction projects in different parts of the country including Bihar as the reflection of public confidence on their expertise,the sources quoting companmy Vice-President Siddhartha Tantia said they hoped to execute them successfully in time.
Besides a large number of projects within the country,TCL had taken up several construction projects in Nepal,Bhutan and Bangladesh worth several hundred crores of rupees,the sources added.
