Rise in humidity leaves Delhiites sweating
New Delhi, June 13 (UNI) Sharp rise in humidity, to nearly 80 per cent, today sent Delhiites in a sweat, even as the capital continued to experience respite from the heat wave sweeping across the city since the beginning of June.
The rise in humidity, from 49 per cent yesterday, to 79 per cent, led to a rise in maximum temperature today to 39.8 degree Celsius, from 37.2 degree C yesterday.
Still, the Capital continued to experience relief from the heat wave that has swept the city since the beginning of June. Infact, the maximum of 39.8 Degrees C was the normal temperature at this time of the year.
Earlier in the day, Delhiites woke up to a cool morning for the second consecutive day with easterly winds maintaining a coolness in the air, leading to a drop in minimum temperature to 28.5 degrees from 30.3 degrees yesterday.
The relief from the heat wave could continue in the coming days with the weathermen forecasting rain or thundershowers at many places across the national capital and other parts of Northwest India during the next few days.
They have also forecast isolated thundersquall over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh.
The met department has forecast a partly cloudy sky in Delhi during the next 24 hours with possibility of rain or thundershowers in some areas.
They have also forecast a drop in maximum temperature today to 39 degrees.
