Police brings Chahal to home town, searches his house
Patiala, June 13 (UNI) The high profile former media advisor to former chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh, B I S Chahal, who is currently under detention was brought to his home town here today.
Chahal was brought in a police van from Ludhiana to his private residence in the city. The van drove straight to the residence and nobody was allowed inside.
Police had made tight security arrangements inside and outside his home.
The police officials accompanying Chahal from Ludhiana maintained that they had to make certain recoveries in connection with the case registered against the former media advisor at the Ludhiana Sadar police station on June 10.
The case was registered against Chahal and six of his relatives under sections 307, 452, 447, 379, 148 and 149 of the IPC following a complaint by a farmer of Daad village near Ludhiana. The complainant had alleged he was beaten up and threatened by Chahal and his associates as he had resisted their attempts to grab his land in October last year.
Chahal and five others named in the case are currently in police custody.
