Indian flights on Delhi-Srinagar sector delayed due to strike

Srinagar, Jun 13 (UNI) All Indian (Airlines) flights on the Delhi- Srinagar sector are running late today due to a flash strike called by nearly 15,000 ground staff of the airlines since last night.

The employees of the government-owned Indian are demanding better pay and wage arrears for the past ten years.

The strike was called after the talks between the management and the Air Corporation Employees Union (ACEU) broke down.

An Indian official at the Srinagar Airport told UNI that all the flights of the airlines have been delayed due to the strike.

The Indian operates two return flights, one of these via Jammu, daily on the Delhi-Srinagar sector.

The official said there was no major impact of the strike on the operations of the Indian (Airlines) at the Srinagar International Airport. ''Only the flights have been delayed,'' he added.
