Haryana records 37.05 lakh MT wheat arrival so far
Chandigarh, Jun 13 (UNI) As much as over 37.05 lakh metric tonnes of wheat has arrived in the mandis of Haryana so far during the current rabi season out of which 90 per cent of the total arrival has been purchased by the six government procuring agencies and only 10 per cent by the traders.
Deputy Chief Minister, Chander Mohan said today that the six government procuring agencies have procured 33.42 lakh metric tonnes of wheat which was 11.12 lakh metric tonnes more than the previous year. He said that this year the traders had purchased 3.63 lakh metric tonnes of wheat which was 10 per cent of the total arrival.
While enumerating detail of the arrival of the wheat, he said that of the total wheat arrival, 12.87 lakh metric tonnes by Hafed, 8.12 lakh metric tonnes had been procured by the Food and Supplies Department, 3.49 lakh metric tonnes by Food Corporation of India, 3.33 lakh metric tonnes by Haryana Agro-Industries Corporation, 2.92 lakh metric tonnes by Haryana Warehousing Corporation and 2.66 lakh metric tonnes by Confed.
He said that Sirsa district was leading with over 6.70 lakh metric tonnes of wheat arrival, followed by Fatehabad with 5.09 lakh metric tonnes, Jind with 4.50 lakh metric tonnes, Kaithal with 4.45 lakh metric tonnes, Karnal with about 4.40 lakh metric tonnes, Kurukshetra with 2.98 lakh metric tonnes, Ambala 1.06 lakh MTs and Yamunanagar 81,839 MTs.
