FINO's smart card for Cuddalore Dist Admn

Chennai, June 13: Mumbai-based biometric enabled smart card technology Financial Information Network and Operations Ltd (FINO) has announced rolling out of its smart cards for Cuddalore District Administration in Tamil Nadu.

FINO smart card services would be utilised by the Cuddalore District Administration in conjunction with Indian Bank, for disbursement of funds under various Central and State-level schemes like NREGA (National Rural Employment Guarantee Act), OAP (Old Age Pension), among other schemes for carrying out transactions on FINO Smart-Cards and POT devices, a company release said here today.

FINO has created a sectoral platform to meet the needs of Banking and MFI sectors targeting the rural populace in India.

The smart card was jointly issued to the beneficiaries by state Rural Development Minister M K Stalin and Cuddalore District Collector at a launch function held in Virudhachalam.

The launching of the smart card was made possible in association with Indian Bank, wherein transactions on the smart card were done live in front of more than 5,000 people, the release added.
