Three relieved of gold, silver ornaments

Puducherry, June 12 (UNI) Four unidentified persons today waylaid three persons and took away 950 gm of gold and 22 kg silver from them.

Police said four persons, riding on two motorcycles threw chilli powder on the faces of Shankar Lal (23), Nema Ram (39) and Sadhu Ram (20), hailing from Chennai.

The trio were walking on the road in the early hours after vacating the lodge where they were staying.

The gang, after assaulting them with sticks, escaped with the bag containing the valuables, police added.
