SpiceJet to provide pilots to Oman Air

Mumbai, Jun 12 (UNI) In an effort to provide international experience to its pilots, SpiceJet and Oman Air today entered into an agreement wherein SpiceJet would provide its quality Boeing 737 pilots to the latter.

Next week, the first batch of six first officers of SpiceJet would reach Muscat, to work with Oman Air for one year.

Commenting on the strategic tie-up, SpiceJet executive vice president (flight operation) Capt J S Dhillon said, ''The arrangement would give our first officers international exposure and when they are back with relevant and rich flying experience, they would be almost ready to be promoted as captains with SpiceJet.'' Recently, Oman Air team was here in India looking for the right partner, who can provide them with the quality and well trained cockpit crew. After lengthy and careful scrutiny, they selected SpiceJet to be their partner, a company statement said.
