South-west monsoon vigorous in many parts of India

Pune, June 12 (UNI) The south-west monsoon has been vigorous in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura and Kerala.

Heat wave conditions prevailed in north-west Rajasthan and at isolated places in Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, west Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat region and Vidarbha.

In the regions where the south-west monsoon is yet to set in, day temperatures were appreciably above normal in some parts of Himachal Pradesh, east Madhya Pradesh, Saurashtra and Kutch, Konkan, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and remaining parts of Rajasthan, Gujrat region and Vidarbha and were above normal in Madhya Maharashtra, Rayalseema and remaining parts of west Madhya Pradesh. They were appreciably to markedly below normal in some parts of Orissa, Bihar, Chattisgarh and were below normal in Uttar Pradesh and north Chattisgarh. They were normal over the rest of the regions.

Heavy to very heavy rain are likely to occur at many places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura.

Heavy rain are likely to occur at most places in coastal Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep and at many places in Konkan and Goa.

Rain or thunder-showers are likely to occur at many places in West Bengal and Sikkim and at a few places in Orissa, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Chattisgarh, south Madhya Maharashtra, interior Karnataka, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and at isolated places in Uttarnchal, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Gujarat state, north Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.

Heavy to very heavy rain have occurred at most places in Nagaland Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura and at many places in Assam, Meghalaya and Kerala.

Very light rain have occurred at isolated places in Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, east Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Gujarat region, Madhya Maharashtra and Rayalseema.

Rain or thunder-showers have occurred at many places in Konkan and Goa, coastal Karnataka and at a few places in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Uttaranchal, west Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Chattisgarh, interior Karnataka, Lakshadweep and at isolated places in Bihar, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Mainly dry weather prevailed over the Arunachal Pradesh, Orissa, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Saurashtra and Kutch, Marathwada and coastal Andhra Pradesh.
