Srinagar, June 12 (UNI) Two infiltrators killed by the troops in Gulmarg sector in Jammu and Kashmir were trained in making and triggering Improvised Explosive Devices (IED), a defence ministry spokesman said today.

He said the infiltrators, who belonged to Pakistan based Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) were killed by the troops in a fierce encounter in Gulmarg sector last night immediately after they sneaked into this side.

He said besides AK 47 rifles, radio set, grenades, 20 kg explosives, improvised explosive device timers and detonators were recovered from the slain militants.

Spokesman said the documents recovered from the slain infiltrators revealed that they were highly trained explosive experts.

They were given the task by their masters in Pakistan to cause large scale blasts in the cities and towns of Srinagar and Baramulla in order to kill innocent civilians and security forces, spokesman said.

Militants, operating in the Kashmir valley have now started targetting security forces and other vital installations by hurling grenades or triggering car bombs. This, he said, was to avoid direct contact with the security forces after they (militants) suffered heavy damages.
