Shekhawat attends preponed NDA meeting, decision on June 18

New Delhi, Jun 12 (UNI) NDA leaders preponed their meeting scheduled for tomorrow and met at former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's residence this evening to finalise its candidate for next month's Presidential election but failed to take any decision.

The meeting was also attended by Vice President Bhairon Singh Shekhawat who is most likely be a contenstant for the coveted post as an Independent.

"The meeting was called to discuss NDA nominee for Presidentship in anticipation that the notification for holding the presidential election would be coming this evening. As notification for the election is yet to be issued, we have decided to meet on June 18, to finalise our nominee," BJP President Rajnath Singh told mediapersons outside Mr Vajpayee's residence after the meeting which lasted about one hour.
