Police clueless about Myanmarese maid's murder
Aizawl, June 12 (UNI) The Aizawl Police are clueless about the motive behind the mysterious murder of a Myanmarese housemaid here yesterday.
Boichhinsung(19) was found dead on her bed with her throat slit last evening. She was alone in the house at the time of the incident, as her master and other family members were away at a church building construction site at Ramthar Veng in Aizawl.
Police said that despite the two-inch deep cut on her throat, there was very little blood which gave rise to the theory of her being strangled to death before her throat was slit.
What baffled the police even further was that nothing was found missing from the house and that it had been medically proven that she had not been raped.
So far, the police have rounded up as many as 17 persons for interrogation, but were yet to make any major breakthrough.
Boichhinsung was among the many girls who had left their homes in Myanmar in search of jobs in Mizoram. Her body was brought back to her home village of Falam in Myanmar later yesterday.
The National Domestic Worker Movement Welfare Trust, Mizoram Unit, had strongly condemned the murder of Boihchhinsungi and demanded that the culprits must be found and punished.
