Physical verification of work under NREGS from July 1

Lucknow, Jun 12 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh government has started work on verification of developmental works under the ambitious National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS).

The actual physical verification would start from July 1 and would be simultaneously conducted by different state-level officials.

State rural development principal secretary Devendra Chaudhary said here that officials concerned had already been directed to carry out the verification work of the scheme in 22 districts.

The districts comprise Rae Bareli, Unnao, Lakhimpur Kheri, Chandauli, Azamgarh, Hardoi, Pratapgarh, Kaushambi, Lalitpur, Kushinagar, Jalaun, Fatehpur, Sonebhadra, Gorakhpur, Mirzapur, Sitapur, Jaunpur, Chitrakoot, Mahoba, Barabanki, Hamirpur and Banda.
