No respite to people from heat in Kashmir
Srinagar, June 12 (UNI) There was no respite to the people today from the hot weather condition prevailing in the Kashmir valley for the past few days.
Weather office here said the maximum temperature in Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, was recorded at 34.0 degrees Celsius, while the minimum stood at 17.2 degrees Celsius.
Yesterday, Kashmir recorded the hottest day of the season at 34.5 degrees Celsius. The minimum stood at 15.1 degrees.
However, the day temperature in Jammu, the state's winter capital, came further down by about two degrees to record at 40.1 degrees, while the minimum stood at 29.7 degrees Celsius.
The maximum temperature in Jammu had soared to 46.3 degrees on Sunday.
In Pahalgam, the maximum stood at 29.2 degrees Celsius while the minimum was recorded at 10.4 degrees Celsius.
