News paper office ransacked in Jammu

Jammu, June 12 (UNI) A newspaper office was ransacked and its staff, including its editor-in-chief, was assaulted last evening in this winter capital city of Jammu and Kashmir, police today said.

Some people led by duo Raju Pahalwan and Kamal Sharma barged into the office of Jammu-based daily Glimpses of Future and assaulted its Editor-in-Chief Prem Nath Sharma -- allegedly for carrying a story on Public Works Department, Kathua -- and ransacked its office, police said.

Meanwhile, some of the staff members informed the nearby Pacca Danga police station, which immediately swung into action and arrested both Raju and Kamal.

The arrested were released on bail today, the SHO Pacca Danga said, adding an FIR stands registered against the duo.
