CBI probe demanded into alleged TN Mercantile Bank scam

Chennai, Jun 12 (UNI) Members of the Tamil Nadu Mercantile Bank Retrieval Stuggling Committee, the bank's share holders association and various Nadar associations staged a slogan shouting demonstration here today, demanding CBI enquiry into the alleged malpractices in the recent transfer of shares of to foriegn companies.

President of the Tamil Nadu Nadar Peravai N r Dhanabalan in his address pointed out that the bank's director Mr P Ramachandra Adityan and his supporter M G Maran in connivence with higher officials of the bank , had transferred the shares to some foreign companies.

Both beneffitted personally out of this, he alleged.

He said this was totally against the interest of the Nadar community, which had set up the bank with lot of toil.

Therefore, the Centre must order a CBI probe and render justice to the community, he said.
