Itanagar, Jun 12 (UNI) The BJP in the state has demanded the issuance of a white paper with regard to the Apex Bank and the publication of a report of the high power committee constituted in this connection in January.

The state government should clarify whether the Rs 225 crore 'central package' is just for revival of the Bank with free hand to its bank management or just to be routed through the bank, the party said and demanded implementation of the cabinet's decision to hand over the case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for a thorough probe in the greater interest of the depositors.

The party in a statement claimed that the National Horticulture Board (NHB) had already issued notice to the bank to return the entire 20 per cent subsidy amount of over Rs 100 crore released earlier under the Development of Commercial Horticulture Scheme to 719 units.

''The subsidy released to the bank was to be kept as a reserve fund and supposed to be adjusted only after expiry of term,'' the party pointed out.

Meanwhile, the party lauded state government's policy decision on Arunachal Pradesh Municipal Bill, 2007, Arunachal Pradesh Urban and Country Planning Bill, 2007, Arunachal Pradesh Building by-laws, 2007, constitution of high power committee on foreigners' issue, development of shopping mall and golden handshake policy for labourers.

However, retrenchment of genuine and productive labourers should be given a second thought, it said, and pleaded inclusion of representatives from student bodies, political parties, NGOs, social activists and legal expertise on the high power committee on foreigners' issue.
