April '07, a buoyant month for manufacturing: Assocham
New Delhi, June 12 (UNI) Industry chamber Assocham today said the first month of the current fiscal has turned out to be a buoyant month, as manufacturing posted 15.1 per cent growth despite high cost of money and infrastructural bottleneck continuing.
''If interest rates are brought down considerably and infrastructural facilities put in place, domestic industry can do miracles for double digit growth,'' Assocham President Venugopal Dhoot said in a statement issued here.
However, he said steel, coal, cement are some of the sectors which need push up and Government support so that infrastructure sector also register a growth like that of manufacturing.
