AIIMS Body to seek compliance report from Venugopal on June 15
New Delhi, June 12 (UNI) AIIMS Director P Venugopal is again likely to feel the ire of Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss at the Institute Governing Body meet on June 15 at which he will be asked to submit a compliance report about its earlier decisions.
The meeting would also deliberate on the Thorat Committee report on alleged discrimination being faced by students on the basis of caste. The report, which was distributed among the members in the last meeting, has accused AIIMS administration of playing a pivotal role in the anti-quota agitation last year.
The eleven-member Institute Body, headed by Dr Ramadoss, would seek a compliance report from Dr Venugopal on various decisions taken at the May 7 meeting of Institute Body, sources said here.
The Institute Body would also would ask about the fate of its directions regarding show cause notices to be issued to the AIIMS faculty Association members for their criticism of the health ministry. The alleged irregular appointment and subsequent promotion of 164 faculty members would also come up at the meeting.
