3 killed, 6 injured in separate accidents
Dharamshala, Jun 12 (UNI) Three people, including two pilgrims, were killed and six injured in three separate road accidents in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh during the last 24 hours, police today said.
A 45-year-old woman was crushed to death by a Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) Volvo bus near Gummar village on the Shimla-Matour National Highway yesterday.
The sources said the accident occurred after the driver of the bus lost control over it, killing the woman, identified as Nirmala Devi on the spot.
The police has registered a case under Section 304 A and 279 of the IPC and arrested the driver of the bus, the source said, adding that investigations were on.
In another road accident in the district, two pilgrims, on their way to Vaishno Devi shrine, were killed after a truck crashed into their van at Milwan village on the Pathankot-Jalandhar National Highway last evening.
The sources said the dead have been identified as Nihal Singh, 35, a resident of Faridabad, who died on way to hospital and an unidentified 45-year-old woman, who died at the Mukairian Hospital.
Four others, injured in the accident, were referred to CMC Ludhiana from a government hospital here, the sources said.
In yet another accident two youths were seriously injured after their motorcycle rammed into a Tata Sumo coming from the opposite direction.
The injured youths were referred to Dr R P Government Medical College and Hospital at Dharamshala where the doctors described their condition as serious.
The sources said a case has been registered under Section 279 and 337 of the IPC and investigations are on.
