Welspun group bags overseas order worth Rs 1,166 crore

Mumbai, June 11 (UNI) Hardware manufacturer Welspun-Gujarat Stahl Rohren Ltd today announced that they have bagged a prestigious pipeline order worth Rs 1,166 crore (USD 288 million) for the supply of line pipes overseas.

The company informed the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) that these orders have come just after a month after they had announced the doubling of their net profit of 113.91 per cent in their financial results 2006-07. The new orders have now taken their pending order book position to approximately Rs 5,166 crores, Welspun said.

The Vice Chairman and Managing Director of the Welspun Group Mr B K Goenka said, ''We strive to nothing less than be the best in what we do and with successive new orders received within a span of a mouth, is testimony of the growth that has been evident over the last few years. We could clearly see W.G.S.R.L emerging into a much stronger and robust company.'' UNI
