Two killed, three injured in road accidents in HP
Nahan, Jun 11 (UNI) At least two people were killed and three injured in two separate road accidents in Sirmaur district of Himachal Pradesh today, police sources said.
A labourer, identified as Laik Ram, was buried alive under the debris of an under construction primary school building in Kiarik village of Sangrah area.
The sources said the labourers were carrying out digging at the base of the building when it came tumbling down, burying Laik Ram and injuring three others.
The injured have been admitted to a government hospital at Dadahu in the district, the sources said.
They said the district administration has announced an immediate relief of Rs 3,000 to the next of the kin of the dead and Rs 1,000 each to the injured in the accident.
A case has been registered and investigations are on, they added.
In second accident in the district, 24-year old tourist from Chandigarh was drowned after he slipped and fell into the Giri River at Giripul.
The dead has been identified as Pankaj Tanwar who was here on a picnic, the sources said.
They said Pankaj's body was handed over to his relatives after post mortem.
