Goa: Three commits suicide due to poverty
Panaji, June 11: A 3-member family, stricken with poverty and illness, allegedly committed suicide by consuming poison at its Talarne-Pernim residence in North Goa.
The victims identified as Krishna Arlekar (42), an auto driver suffering from abject poverty and tuberculosis, his wife Ujwala (35) and daugher Urvashi (9) took the drastic step yesterday.
The couple's son Uddesh (7) was away at their relatives home, when the trio committed the suicide, police said.
Their bodies were sent for post-mortem examination, police added.
