Satyam sets up Test Business School

Hyderabad, Jun 11: IT major Satyam's Director, Senior VP and Head of testing Manish Mehta today said the company has set up a virtual 'Test Business School' to meet the growing requirements in testing in the IT industry in India.

Speaking to newspersons here on the sidelines of 'Test Drive 2007', the conference organised by Satyam, he said the School would offer three-months course in testing to generate high skilled professionals.

Stating that 1,500 students were already undergoing training in the School, he said another 750 to 1,000 students would be enrolled this year.

The IT major had invested two to 2.5 per cent of its testing revenue in Test Business School this year, Mr Mehta said, adding that "we would increase investment in its expansion in the future".

Earlier, Andhra Pradesh Director General and Ex-officio Principal Secretary to Vigilance and Enforcement department Girish Kumar said 80 per cent of the e-governance projects taken up in the state failed either partially or totally due to poor maintenance and lack of management.

Observing that software testing was considered as 'business insurance policy', he said ''IT industry should also concentrate on learning management, besides being a knowledge management organisation.''
